Presently, Pamela K. Williams is the Pastor of the Ark of Refuge Tabernacle Inc., Community Activist and Social Justice Warrior.
Elder Pamela K. Williams is a lifelong resident of West Philadelphia and has dedicated herself to advocating for all people. Pastor Pamm has been especially passionate in her advocacy for those suffering from oppressive economic disparity throughout Philadelphia. She has been serving her community as a pastor for over three decades and credits her gift of loving people to the warm and nurturing community in which she was born and raised.
“Pastor Pamm”, as she is affectionately known, is the Founder and Pastor of the Ark of Refuge Tabernacle of Philadelphia, Inc., located in the University City community of Philadelphia. The church functions as an affirming and inclusive ministry; acknowledging that all people are welcome at God’s table without regard to cultural, economic, racial, social or sexually oriented differences. They have helped released prisoners get back on their feet, helped HIV-positive people find housing and hosted annual Thanksgiving dinners for LGBTQA community members and their families when they are no longer welcome at larger family functions. The Ark also directly provided support to the families of Akyra Murray (the youngest victim of the Pulse Nightclub tragedy) and Dominique Oglesby (an innocent victim of senseless violence).
Pastor Pamm’s commitment has been extended through civic and social justice work in Philadelphia, the state of Pennsylvania and Nationally. Her advocacy is focused on the inalienable rights of humankind, which are due to all people, educational disparity and the need for civil engagement. Currently, Pastor Pamm serves as member of the Pennsylvania State Steering Committee for Equality PA, Community Advisory Board Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia Branch of the NAACP.
The daughter of pioneering Philadelphia Activist Novella Williams, Pastor Pamm is committed to the political process and has served as an Executive Committee member and the First Vice Chair of the 60th Democratic Ward of Philadelphia County. Her matriculation history includes: Spelman College, Temple University and Morgan State University. Presently, Pastor Pamm is pursuing a Masters of Divinity at the Lancaster Theological Seminary.
